Design. The design for my poster was inspired by several things, with a lot of customisation which makes it unique. The colour is based on the colour scheme from last years blockbuster (The Spirit), black, grey and red. The face was changed by photoshop and made to look like it had in the film with no colour, and a few creepy adjustments like the long ears and fangs etc. I tried hard to come up with some better and original backgrounds for behind the character, but went with an image of a dark hallway I found online instead. Colour. From the very beginning, I knew that the colour of the poster would have to be dark, since the genre is inception/horror styled, it would have to convey as dark, brooding and threatening to the audience. The characters skin was made pale and airbrushed well in photoshop, it stands out bold from the dark background, so people really notice some of the darker coloured details on his pale face. The headings were to stand out too, which was a challenge, that is when I decided to use a colour scheme of a film, using three specifics, black and white shades for the image and then using a colour for the title. I needed the title to match the image in some way, anyway; so I made his tie red. The title. The title was brought upon the group. It's font was a long gothic type, I found that it was clear to read and matched the layout of the picture perfectly so I decided to keep it. I thought about the placement of the title a lot while editing the poster, I initially wanted to have it going across the top. What made me change this was that
If I had it across the top, the characters face wouldn't be noticed as much, and I also found that the title looked silly in any other placement than the bottom. So I went with the most profession looking placement.

PRODUCTION DAY 4 : The editing begins
All of the footage was uploaded and arranged into the correct order using final cut, Rob used some great filters on the footage of the CCTV shot.
PRODUCTION DAY 3 : Final filming
The day was very productive for us, we had finished the filming, and began our post production.
This was quite exiting, to see the footage we recovered had actually matched up perfectly.
Throughout this scene, I had to fall over, and land on my back in the safest way possible. According to our initial story board, the camera would have to do a low from high, 360 degree rotation, but there was no way of doing this, so we decided to go with our back up idea, where the camera would have to follow me, become a tracking shot as I fell to the ground
PRODUCTION DAY 2 : Filming + Editing
we spent that time on coming up with some fresh ideas because some things couldn't work, like shot 14, an over the shoulder shot, of my character standing, watching himself run away.

PRODUCTION DAY 1 : First day of filming.
This scene was of my character, wondering around the room that he was trapped inside.
The Camera is in the top corner of the room, filming as though it is a security camera aka CCTV.
A close-up of the box, and me opening the door, using manual focus really perfected the shot for us.

The Story Board.
We finished the story board within two lessons. Nothing too major, it took some time, it was me and Alex that had to come up with the shot angels, as camera man, and me, as the director. Rob and Kieran focused on the the opening titles and the end credits + after effects.
The Props list.
We have decided to make the bad guy, the grim reaper/vampire styled character is going to wear a suit instead of a cloak, to make him seem much more mysterious.
I'll be wearing casual cloths, plain white shirt, black jacket, black jeans.
The initial idea for my outfit was to have me wear a shirt and tie, to give me that much more formal look we needed, but it wouldn't work if me and the vampire-like character both wore formal outfits, so we have gone with a casual look.
The torch is there to show that I work within the building, there would be a reason why I have that torch, because the last half of the film is me, in the dark.
The Target Audience.
This is the type of person/character we have aimed our video to be viewed by, somebody who watches a lot of action/inception styled movies.
Spends a lot of time on the internet, and listens to heavy music + eats fast food.

Yano what's cool? The possibilities out there.
I was amazed, there was Rosie Ball(former ex-student), a sucess in the media industry who had studied at longroad. She has graduated at Norwich University College Of The Arts, within time she has spoken about her Nominated game, that is going to be releast for ipads 1 & 2 (I had a brief moment to play on the game and found it highly entertaining).
I would sure love to be in her shoes, the amount of experience she has gained, and where it has gotten her is somewhere I would like to be in the future, but less involved with video games. She is at work with Disney, which is another thing I found was amazing.
Horror Stills (The Planning)
We had to do a story board, as per usual. Before doing anything productive, it is always good to have a plan, so you know exactly what you are doing, and not constantly having to change your mind. Although, even whilst following through a plan, there can be second thoughts and moments in which you might want to change certain things in your plan, and that is good because it shows how the plan is developing into something more.
The story board took us approximately 15-20mins, not including the break half way through writing and sketching it out. After planning, we were all set and ready to go all out to take the still images, we had our plans photographed on a iphone so that we wouldn't have to carry a large A3 sheet of paper around with us, this worked well so it will definitley be of use next time.
Genre!
To understand Genre, what it is, what it takes to create "a genre", basically, to know the difference between one thing from another. Films are made up on a certain genre, and some times, a combination of two to three types of genre's.
The first thing you must do before even considering to create a film/clip is to decide how you want it and where you want it to be set, and what your aim is then put that into a plan. For deciding what Genre you want, depends on what your goal is, So to say, you want your film to frighten the audience? Then you would label that as a horror, or if you wanted it to be a full on action like transformers, then you would label it as an "Action movie" Genre.
Now if one doesn't satisfy, you can use both, Horror and Action AKA Thriller. A good example of a Thriller would be the Resident Evil movies.

My New York video No.2 (final piece)
After adding music to the video, I exported it, then opened it up into Final Cut, to add titles and credits.
Doing this was a treck, it took a while to understand, but after adding one text to the video clip, It got easier to add the rest, and with Movement + Fades.
My New York collage No.1 (before the titles/credits)
I dragged the video file into GarageBand, then used the sample music to add effect to it, making it match with the video clip, it had to be precise and not random.

This is a Demo soundtrack that I've created in Garage Band.
This was quite fun, and easy for me to create a mix of sample music tracks.
I normally use GarageBand at my home so I found this Demo quite fun to make, partly because I knew the sort of music genre I wanted to have for my demo, and mostly because I am very familiar with the software and roughly already know how to use it fully.
Next time I'd like to bring my guitar, and connecter into class to record my own music, so that way, the soundtrack wont have any copyright fragment.
This will also, for sure make it more original.

Logo Design No.2 (Final piece)
With a few simple motions I used to create a the final moving logo, I couldn't have fully completed it without editing the images on Photoshop, and adding some alternative sounds I found on garage band and mixed. The logo went really well, some people that noticed that the spelling of productions, is spelt as "Producions" but it was my aim to make it odd, that is why it will stand out.

Logo Design No.2 (The Idea)
There was no more research to be done, the next step was to come up with an original idea, and put it to paper, and that is exacally what I did. My first idea was to have a cartoon arrow, go flying at a dart board, with the camera following it, and then the arrow would hit the board, showing a ribbon that is attatched to the back of the arrow, with "Matt Productions" written sideway's on it in bold lettering.
I then created a short story board for it that was scene for scene, like I'd pictured it in my mind.
I then realised that it would take far too much time to create, so I decided to go for a clean, shade of white and black logo.
Research into Companies and their Logo's
The day went by so fast, the task was to do some online research on different types of Logo's e.g big companies like apple. I, myself am a fan of comic books. so I decided to go for the typical comic-book companies, Marvel & DC comic's.

we had work-sheets that we wrote any valid information we found the companies, another thing we had to do for each company that we wrote about was to attempt to draw the companies logo. I'm pretty sure that we had to do this because it would show the difficulty, and how Logo's are not just drawn by hand, but they are planned out very carefully sketched and layed out, with exact precission.

The Night Club Flyer
The Living Room! That is what I called my club, the class today was set some work to create a flyer, advertising a nightclub, this was aimed at teaching the students to become more familiar with Photoshop. This helped me understand a little, of how Photoshop works all together. Since it was knew to me the day before, what I acheived today is alot to in comparrison to what I did yesterday.
The main tool I used was the magnetic lasser tool, to cut around selected areas, and crop.
I got lost when I used Text, but I got my head around it, just in time for uploading it to Flickr.

The World Is Your Eye
Monday was great. we learnt how to use standard skills on Ps, AKA Photoshop. We began with an exercise where we found a set .Jpeg image of an eye and another of the earth. We had to import them into Photoshop and modify them to overlap the iris with the cropped image of he earth, then blend it so that it fitted perfectly, then use some effects to make the image more original and so forth. We had to work in pair's because at that time, half of the MacBook's were having Ps re-installed onto them.
I worked with Jackson, I was new to photoshop, so I had to improvise most of the time, our final piece can definitely be described as one of a kind, or the "odd one out". I have added the photo to this post so you can see why...
